Can you withdraw cash at every convenience store in Korea?
Whether a convenience store has a cash machine, and whether it takes your card, is checked on the machine itself at that branch.
The 2021 tourism guide listed ATMs among the services convenience stores provide. It did not say every branch has one, and no public file used here records which branches do.

What is a convenience store ATM in Korea?
A cash machine placed inside a store. Its screen, card logos and notices are the machine’s, not the store counter’s.
Staff can tell you whether the branch has a machine, but the conditions for your card appear on the machine itself. That is why this guide puts the checks at the machine rather than the counter.
What does an ATM sign at a Korean convenience store tell you?
That a machine is there. It does not say whether a foreign card will work.
Look at the logos on the machine and compare them with the logo on your card. A match is a reason to try, and the machine’s response is the answer.
In what order do you check a convenience store ATM?
Machine present, card logos, the machine’s hours, then the fee screen before you confirm.
| Check | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Is there a machine? | Inside the branch, or ask staff | Not every branch is described as having one |
| Card logos | On the machine | Shows which card networks it handles |
| Machine hours | Notice on the machine | No public source says they match store hours |
| Fee | Screen before confirming | No public source gives one fee for all machines |
How should you treat what is not known about a convenience store ATM?
Leave it unknown and plan around it: carry a second card or some cash.
Korea Convenience Store Guide does not fill gaps with guesses. Where a fact is not in a public source, the table below says so instead of offering a typical value. The 2021 tourism guide itself said services such as phone charging existed at “some” convenience stores, and store services differ from branch to branch.
| Information | Status here | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Which branches have ATMs | Not in public files used here | Ask staff or look inside |
| Foreign card acceptance | Not confirmed | Compare logos and try |
| Fees | Not listed | Read the fee screen |
| Machine hours | Not listed | Read the machine notice |
| Who to call about a failed withdrawal | Not listed | Use the contact shown on the machine or your card issuer |
What if a convenience store ATM rejects your card?
Take the card back, check the logos again and try another card, or another machine, rather than repeating the same attempt.
If money was deducted but not dispensed, keep the receipt or a photo of the screen and contact the number shown on the machine or your card issuer. Store staff can point you to the machine’s contact details.
The 2021 guide said convenience stores were often found near subway stations and in residential areas, so another branch nearby is worth trying. If explaining the problem in Korean is hard, the Korea Tourism Organization lists the 1330 Korea Travel Helpline, +82-2-1330, which answers in eight languages.
How current is the convenience store ATM information?
The only public description used here dates from 6 October 2021 and is kept as a historical reference.
The card guide updated in August 2026 covers transport cards, not cash machines. Korea Convenience Store Guide will add machine operators’ own guidance only after reading it at the source.
The 2021 guide carries its own warning that its information may have changed. It is older than the public store file used elsewhere on this site, and neither source records which branches have a machine.
What can convenience store ATM guidance not tell you?
Whether a given machine works today, what it charges and how much it lets you take out.
Withdrawal limits are set by machines and card issuers, and none is listed on this site.
The tourism card guide also describes WOWPASS, a prepaid card for foreign visitors that is loaded with won or foreign currency at its own kiosks and whose remaining balance can be taken back as won in cash at those kiosks. Those kiosks are separate machines, not convenience store ATMs, and this site neither recommends nor compares them.
What else do people ask about Korea convenience store ATM?
Does every convenience store in Korea have an ATM?
No public source used here says so. The 2021 guide listed ATMs among store services, not as something every branch has.
Where do I see whether a machine takes foreign cards?
On the card logos on the machine. The machine’s response is the final answer.
Where is the fee shown?
On the machine’s screen before you confirm the withdrawal.
Are store hours and machine hours the same?
No public source says so. Read the notice on the machine.
Who do I contact about a failed withdrawal?
The contact shown on the machine, or your card issuer. Keep the receipt or a photo of the screen.
